Can't get mini-server working under Windows 10

I posted this elsewhere and received no answer, so I'm re-posting here. I'm running Core FTP mini-server v 2.04 on a PC that recently upgraded to Windows 10. I'm running Core FTP LE ver 2.2 build 1853 on another PC that is still under Windows 7, that I use to connect with the mini-server. When I try...

Password reject

All of a sudden I'm getting an invalid password error message attempting an SFTP connection to my mini-server. Should I re-install?

Latest build not retaining parameters

I installed 1.42 because my previous version expired. I have msftpsrvr in my startup. When I rebooted today, it started without user, password or path parameters. Previously I only had to enter these the first time I ran the server.

Drive mapping on mini SFTP server?

Is drive mapping, or some other technique, available to access more that one drive using the SFTP mini server? For example, can I access C: and D: from the Core FTP client?

I don't see an answer to this question. I, also, would like to have the mini-server show as an icon in the system tray instead of the task bar. Is that possible?

Restore doesn't work

Periodically CoreFTP has asked me to backup my sites, which I have done. The files are stored in C:\Documents and Settings\me\Application Data\CoreFTP. I dried to import the most recent (13.dir) and got the message "0 sites imported". I followed the FAQ instructions: How do I backup my sit...

"Control" ?

Thanks very much for the suggestion. I wasn't sure what you meant by "control," so I tried right clicking on everything I could. It worked when I right clicked on the list of file names in the remote and local windows. Too bad this information isn't in the documentation (or at least I coul...

Is there a way to obtain a listing of the remote files? I'd like to print the list and save it as a file.

Root path

I forgot to record the root path before installing the new version. For windows should it be "C:", "\C:", or "/C:" ? I didn't make any changes to permissions, so I should have access.

Unable to connect to vers 1.15

I've been unable to connect to the mini SFTP server since upgrading to 1.15. On the server side I see the connection coming up (IP address and time). On the CoreFTP the log contents are: Welcome to Core FTP, release ver 2.1, build 1607 (U) -- © 2003-2009WinSock 2.0Mem -- 2,094,952 KB, Virt -- 2,097,...

I got FTP working!

Not using PASV was indeed the solution. All the information the Netgear technician gave me was wrong. It took a while to sort out what worked and what didn't. Another part of the problem was that the router didn't always implement the settings I entered. I haden't noticed that at first. Many thanks ...

Perhaps I should try using a non-standard FTP port

Perhaps I should try using a non-standard FTP port. It might even have the advantage of being more secure from net scanners.

I would appreciate an example of using non-standard FTP port(s). In particular, how do I set up the router? Am I forwarding one port or two?

Turning PASV off didn't work

I turned PASV off by unchecking it on the connection screen. If there is another place, I couldn't find it. As the following shows, connecting to the home computer failed. Welcome to Core FTP, release ver 1.3c, build 1447.6 (U) -- © 2003-2006 WinSock 2.0 Mem -- 1,047,496 KB, Virt -- 2,097,024 KB Sta...

Problem TFPing through Netgear WGR614 router

I think this is a router problem, but hope that someone here has an idea how to work around. It may also be that I need more settings in CoreFTP. The problem is after changing the router at home I can not get a directory listing using CoreFTP from work. But everything works when I FTP to other place...

Not getting directory list

I replaced the router at home and ran into problems FTPing to my home FTP server. Specifically, I can't get a directory listing when I connect to my home server. There are no problems when I FTP to other sites. The problem may be with a CoreFTP setting because I was able to get a listing by using th...

Determining remote storage used

I would like to determine how much storage is used at the remote site. If I were using the basic command line FTP, I could issue a dir command for each directory and subdirectory and manually total the storage used. Is there a better way in CoreFTP?

Download appears to be hung

A download appears to be making no progress. The bytes window hasn't moved off 20% for some time. The status is constantly increasing. It shows 4:05:17 at the moment. What does this status mean? Is there some way to determine what is happening? The last command was 150 Opening data connection. I had...

Using Lite v 1.3, I adjusted the column widths in both windows. The next time I started Core FTP, the columns were not the way I had set them. Is there a way to make the column setting "stick"?
