You are correct. I uploaded a tar file to my server, but did not realize the chown was not set correctly. So I changed the chown to the user (me) and all is well.

I hope this helps. Since I downloaded the 1.3 v I cannot CHMOD either. And I know my server is fully capable. Something has changed. At first, I looked at XP sp2, Firewall settings, etc. Still no go.

The latest version released Oct. 2005 does not do this. The older version worked well. I opened my SSH client to change permissions. CoreFTP wouldn't do it. Maybe this is related...Now I cannot upload and get a 550 permission denied!

Any ideas?

There are a very large number of files that need to be uploaded in binary so renaming the extensions would be very tedious. I take it that my method was wrong? The author clearly stated that all files must be uploaded in binary.
