Its much easier to setup the user's account/default directory on the FTP server. This way you do not have to configure Core FTP at all and when the user connects, they get put in their own directory automatically (usually a virtual one that looks like '/'). Select the MVS server type in your site profile. You can do this by going into the site manager, selecting your site, then advanced -> general -> server type 'MVS'. If it doesn't fix it, right click on the remote directory, select directory commands -> directory info, and send it to support.

Is 'home.alltel.net/xxxxxxxxx' the hostname?

Take out the '/xxxxxxxxx' part if it is. Resolving it might not work and cause that error.

It should be the same as explorer... If you hold down the CTRL key while selecting each file, and then drag over those files, it should work.

The other way to do it is to select the first file and then hold down the shift key and select the last file you want..

sftp (ssh) doesn't support site to site transfers. There is a global option in the transfers section 'local site to site transfers' that might do the trick.

If you increase the size of your buffers it should help too.

Go to the advanced - connection settings of the site profile and increase the send to 4096, receive 16384.

If you go higher than 32k on the receive it can sometimes slow thigns down.

DMZ is a mode that will allow a computer to bypass most router settings. Gamers use it a lot so they can play games when certain ports are blocked by the router. If DMZ works then that would tell you your router is part of the problem.

Did you try port mode? (uncheck the pasv option)

it doesn't look like a firewall issue unless your firewall is blocking certian ports. If that was happening you would see timeout messages in the log.

Sometimes the server is just overloaded or needs a reboot...
