You are trying to connect using active transfers (PORT), not PASV. Check the PASV setting in your site profile (black not gray). Your connection should look like this (see PASV highlighted).. Resolving ftp.coreftp.com... Connect socket #1732 to 69.61.78.33, port 21... 220 Core FTP server Version 1.0...

Security of files is determined by server settings and not anything the client does. A lot of times they install an update on the server or changed security and don't tell anyone. You can change permissions on files by right clicking on them, click on properites then either put in 644 manually or ch...

I know this was mentioned above but I'll post it more detail because it might help. Try using active mode connections (PASV not checked), and then define your router's external IP in the adv -> connections -> Use NAT/IP address field. I had this problem once at a customer site and it was the only th...

Its much easier to setup the user's account/default directory on the FTP server. This way you do not have to configure Core FTP at all and when the user connects, they get put in their own directory automatically (usually a virtual one that looks like '/'). Putting a user in their own home directory...

With FTP protocols (all exept SSH/SFTP) you have to open your port 21 AND a port range. This can be just about anywhere you want but like I said before, if your router doesn't allow a port range, you'll be in for some trouble. You may have to plug in ports one by one and your FTP port range should b...

this does sound like a router/firewall related problem on the server side. This doesn't sound like a problem connecting out, it's something blocking your connection to the server. The easiest thing to do is go directly to the router/firewall software product website and do a search for FTP. Redirect...

If you can't even connect out then it is almost definitely a firewall problem. Did you take a look at this link yet? http://coreftp.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=463 And if you're using Norton, search the forums for details. If you are using a firewall software with the XP firewall you may have to disa...

You can try to validate your web page here: http://validator.w3.org/
If that doesn't help, I'd check with your hosting company to see if there is something wrong with the server.
Your index is named index.htm and the server could want index.html...

Copy / Move files after downloading
This is a way to copy / move files to another directory after downloading.... Go into the external settings of your site profile (advanced -> external). In the post download field, enter: cmd.exe /c copy %1 c:\destination_directory\ (copy) cmd.exe /c move %1 c:\desination_directory\ (move)
