The solution works fine, for the specific problem, but the related problem still exists: "I'm not sure when the Default Beep is used outside CoreFTP, so be careful if you think you might need it elsewhere - but it looks like this is the only way to go..." Will a future version of Core FTP ...

Vista and "ding" sound. Anyone find a solution

I continue to have a problem using CoreFTP with Vista. The problem occurs at home and at work. When clicking on any file in either the client or server window, I hear "ding". I can't turn it off, and it is annoying. I have turned off all sounds in the Vista Control Panel, yet the "din...

Do you have any of the ultimate extras installed?
The problem is definetly *not* a CoreFTP problem, as it is happening in other programs now. I'll check Windows Vista (Ultimate) settings again.

I think I am using the Vista default settings.

You could try disabling Core FTP's sounds from view -> options -> sounds -> uncheck "sounds on". I tried this first. No luck. Core FTP doesn't have any built in sounds for just clicking on a file. That's very surprising! It may indicate some sort of other GUI issue that isn't obvious at t...

I have turned off all sounds in the Vista Control Panel, yet the "ding" continues in CoreFTP. Suggestions?

Want to ensure logoff after 1 minute.

We are using Core in the classroom. There are 15 students. The Unix server that hosts our website only allows three concurrent connections and the Unix server is set to auto-logoff after 15 mins. The nature of student work is that they work on their webpages, save, then upload every 5-10 minutes. Th...

Connection Timeout ??

I don't 100% understand what this means. In the Help File, it reads: Connection Timeout -- This is the amount of time that the client will wait to connect to a server. In the Quick Connect window, 1) If Timeout is 5, does this mean 5 seconds or 5 minutes? 2) Does this mean the time Core will wait to...

New updates - clarification

Some questions about the new release v1.3c 1) Does the new version v1.3c apply to Core Pro? 2) What is the difference between 'Core FTP Pro version' and "Pro version' that is availabe under "Betas, Latest Updates"? 3) What is different about the ansi version? Tropical3 ---------------...

Yes, random commands are being issued. I am still being disconnected so probably this is due to the server limit. Thanks, Tropical3 That is what you should do in order to stay connected. When you're connected, do you see random commands being issued to the server (in the log)? If you aren't seeing t...

Install to F: (USB Drive)

I am attempting to install CoreFTP (free) to F:\, so that it can be used on different PCs. Some of the install files seem to write to C:\xxx

Currently, I am disconnected from my server after 2 mins

Currently, I am being disconnected from my server after 2 mins. In Connections->Advanced one checkbox is "Keep Alive". I've checked it, and set the "Keep Alive (secs)" to 600, hoping to allow myself 10 minutes before getting kicked. I assumed that CoreFTP Pro would send a 'ping'....

Auto timeout .... how to extend the time limit

Newbie here ...

I've tried several times to change the settings so that, when connected to a site, the timeout remains for 10+ mins. I prefer not to have to 'reconnect' at regular intervals.
