Setting permissions fo all subdirectories and files in a dir

Post by slandman »

Is there a way to set all subdirectories and files in a directory all at once?

How to set permissions on all files in a directory at once.

Post by slandman »

Select all files in a directory at once by clicking on the top file, holding down the shift key and scrolling down to the bottom of the list and selecting the last file. All files will be highlighted. Right click the mouse and go to Properties and select the permissions for all of those selected files.

Hi Slandman,

Thanks fot the info, but unfortunatley this does not work for files within folders within folders if you get my drift.

I used to use WFTP and when you right clicked on a folder to set the permissions you had the option of applying to all sub folders.

Right click on the directory/folder(s) -> Properties -> Check "recurse subdirectories" option when setting new permssions.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Unfortunately I do not have the option of "recurse subdirectories"when I right click on the folder. I am using V2.1 build 1649, is it only an option with other versions?
