$ symbol-file name problem while transfering on VMS

I am using core FTP lite client version 1.3 build 1403 ansi and my problem is following: When I secure transfer a file from a windows PC to VMS host on port 22, a '$' symbol gets appended at the start of the file as I list the file on a VMS host, which is not desired. I would highly appreciate if you please let me know, the remedy to this.
