Set current folders as connection folders

Post by Dave Wojo »

I have been using WS_FTP since 1996, I recently got a new
high-speed Internet connection and WS_FTP chokes miserably..
and SSH.. you can forget about it!

So after 9 years I decided to find something new...
And here I am.

I still have 29 days to go on my evaluation, But I am sold!

I am hoping it does (or will do) a few things I got real used to...

( I have looked around the forum and searched a bit and did not
see this anywhere, I read the bit about "bookmarks" but that
did not really cut it.

I also tried the "duplicate" a connection and then adjust the folders
in the advanced section.. but that was not quick there was typing
involved and allot of trouble if you need to do it often. )

1. A quick (one or two click) button that "sets" the current
folders from both sides to "default" to be the new current
folders at connection time.

2. A log file that is written in the host directory "after" each
transfer. If you sort by date and time it becomes a "marker"
you can use to easily select the files you need to upload
since the last transfer by selecting the files above the
"marker".

I really like your product!
I am overwhelmed by all the features it has!

Thanks,

... it definitely would simply many ftp tasks.

Where it comes in really handy is when you are working on a
PHP project that has files in so many different directories..
you just move through the dirs and upload anything that is
above the markers..

Good for when you are brain dead at the end of the day!

 I hope I am not pushing it here but what I always
wished wsftp would do and would be really awsome and
go hand-in-hand with the marker thing, is to be able to
turn on a "syncronized" directory change mode.
(maybe it does this already..?)

As you move through each of your host directories on your
local computer to upload your changes.. the remote system
automatically follows your changes with you... (spooky huh?)

Thanks for the responce and a great product.
