Connection problems

Post by lmoreira »

Hi Guys
I just installed CoreFTP lite and setup my server.
I am very new to this so I need your help...
the server is a normal PC running XP and zFTPserver, I have XP firewall on and I connect to the internet trought a router, which also as wireless networking. I have enabled FTP transfer and added port 21 to the list on the firewall at home. With my laptop connected to the wireless network I can connect to the server with CoreFTP no problem, but of course this is on my internal network.
the Problem is that I have now installed CoreFTP on my PC at work and I can not connect at all. at work I am behind a firewall do you think this is the problem and how can I fix it? does it have something to do with the proxy setup?
Or do you think is my router at home which is the problem?
All the help will be apreciated.
best regards
Luis

Hi Guys
do I need to get a DSN to creat the server?
My understanding of how this works is:
- Run a server software on the PC you are turning into the server.
- creat acount.
- add resourses the users can acess.
on the client PC
- with CoreFTP LE type in IP address of server, username, and password
and you are away...
Is this correct or I am completly going the wrong way
regards
