Create a new user with mapped drive as home directory

Post by monikaSood »

Hi,

I am trying to create a user in my domain with home directory as one of the mapped directory (share) on the network.
I have changed the user with which the Core Ftp service starts and also created a new share using that user only.
Now when I try to connect to the user from Client it says No such File and thus not able to write as well.
Has anyone done this before and can some one provide an idea what I might be doing wrong.
This is what I did:
1. Created a mapped drive to a network share using User1
2. Create user in Core Ftp with home directory set to mapped drive
3. Assigned user permissions on the mapped drive directory

Now when connecting from client I get permission denied.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am really runing behind schedule. :( :(

Use the default home directory under the FTP root, then create a virtual path in the user's home directory...

www.coreftp.com/server/help/Virtual_Paths.htm

The user will then see a virtual path they can use to access the mapped drive. Don't forget to add the mapped drive to the user's permissions.
