Hello,
first off, thanks for providing such a great FTP client! I've used it for years and I'm very happy with it.
Recently I discovered a great feature you have: editing a file that's on the remote server. Here's how it works (in case I'm not being clear):
- let's say I have an Excel file on my remote server
- I connect and navigate to the correct remote folder
- the file is in the right hand pane
- I right click on the file and choose 'edit'
- the file is downloaded to %TEMP% and Excel opens
- I make changes and exit Excel
- CoreFTP automagically uploads the file again, asking if I want to overwrite it
Great!
The problem is that with FreeMind (http://freemind.sourceforge.net) this doesn't work correctly all the time. Freemind is a Java app, maybe that makes a difference. In any case, here is the scenario:
- repeat steps from above
- keep CoreFTP running
- edit file again
- save file
- exit Excel
- file doesn't get uploaded
Oddly, if you wait a while longer it appears to work ok. Very strange. I haven't done exhaustive testing on this subject but I was hoping someone can point out a problem or workaround that makes this work reliably. I think this is a great feature because it allows me to keep a single copy of some of my documents on the remote server and edit it from multiple places (work and home let's say) without having to download/upload manually.
I upgraded to the latest version.
Thanks!
Sander
