Can't upload files

Post by Blue Mask Lover »

Lately I keep having problems with my FTP... I upload a file and it says "Xfering" then "Failed" and my webpage gets replaced with a blank page. This has happened every night since Sunday. Sometimes I log in and I can upload my .html file fine but then I make some changes to it in Notepad, re-save it, then go to upload it again and suddenly it says Failed.

Anyone know why this keeps happening?

Oddly, I have the programme at work too and on my work PC I've had no such problems. Only at home and only in the last week.

Thanks.

Which version of CoreFTP/Windows are you running at home? Are they the same as at work?

My first suggestion is to try downloading the v2.0 developer build on the downloads page:
http://www.coreftp.com/download.html

After that, if it still does not work (at home), try posting your log here so we can see if there's any hints to what the problem may be, specifically.

At work, you're connecting to the same server, correct?

Have you checked to see if your Router and/or Firewall (software) has been updated or changed? This might include your ISP's routers.

I have had this problem for a while now and have searched widely for a solution.

It appears to be a clash with AVG antivirus software, as disabling this temporarily cured the problem. But of course this is not the final answer, and I joined this forum in the hope that someone would know how to make the programs work together. Disabling AVG is quite complicated, involving the startup mechanism as well as the AVG control centre.

Can anyone out there take this forward?
