View by Domain, and View Activity not displaying anything

Post by Lizard »

OK, the server is functioning very well behind a firewall and with a dynamic IP (thanks for the new feature) with both FTP and SFTP domains setup. My question now is, why am I not seeing any entries in the View by Domain window (I have two domains setup, and the View by Domain pull down is blank and grayed out, and I don't see any entries when someone logs in), or in the Activity list (I have View Activity checked, but am not logging to a file yet (I will try that though)). Am I missing a setting, or misunderstanding the function of these list boxes? Thanks!

I turned on Logging, and after logging in to both the FTP and the SFTP domains, and navigating around, the log is still empty... :?:

Sorry to keep replying to myself, but another observation. If I reboot the entire machine, and the Core FTP server starts automatically as a service, the activity displays seem to work (as does the logging). If I stop the service to change a setting, and restart it, the activity display does not seem to work... Thanks!

Is there anything specific I could look for in TaskManager to manually shut down? It is kind of a pain to reboot the entire server each time I make a change to the FTP server settings... And I like being able to glance at the on screen log to make sure I'm not being pounded on... :? Thanks!

While the service is running, you won't be able to view activity or make changes. If you make any changes (ie turn on logging) while you have the service running, exit the gui program and restart the coreftp server service. The view current activity will always be grayed out when running the server service. You don't have to reboot every time to get this working.
