Server Logging

Post by ceepster »

I'm using Core FTP Server as a service to receive SFTP transfers as part of a synchronisation system. The partner sending the files is using robocopy to initiate an hourly transfer. We've been experiencing periodic dropouts when they can't connect to the server and recieve 'Connection reset by peer Unable to initialize SFTP: Can't establish connection'. There are no errors showing in any of the Windows Server logs, so my question is: Is there an option to get Core FTP Server to produce log files of connection attempts that I can use to determine where the problem is occuring. I'm running the latest build of Core FTP Server

Thanks for the response. Yes I'm running 175 and the only core dump I have is a while back from a previous version (170) and there do not seem to be any core dumps related to the recent problems mentioned in this post?

Core FTP Server is licenced and as we are using it purely to support this synchronisation task, it's only our partner connecting to it. It's possible that this problem is 'upstream' of Core FTP Server, hence the query as to whether it produces a connection log, so that I can prove whether it's Core FTP Server itself rejecting the connection or some other issue?

As the server is running as a service, I don't have it visible on the desktop so I can't see the 'view activity' screen. Is there any way to channel this to a written log file?
