425 Try later, data connection in use.

Post by Deb.t »

Hi,
I'm trying to load files onto a web server and get the following error.

425 Try later, data connection in use.
Error loading directory.

I'm using Coreftp V1.3c build 1447.6.

I've checked past forums and all solutions relate to PASV check box but any changes I make to this don't fix the problem.

I've check with our server administrator and he says he has no problems and checking my log on string the only difference he can see is ...

230 User logged in, proceed.
SYST
215 UNIX Type: L8
Keep alive off...
PWD
257 "/" is current directory.

Everything else matches his log on perfectly. The file upload freezes about 76% and won't go any further. File size is only 11KB so that's not the problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Debbie

Any other ideas? I've turned off the virus program and can load files onto one of my websites. But the other is still blocked, yet another administrator can load OK which suggests a local problem. I can't seem to find anything different between the two website set up other than the line "215 UNIX Type: L8"

230 User logged in, proceed.
SYST
215 UNIX Type: L8
Keep alive off...

Do you know where this appears in the set up?

Thanks
Debbie

If you're using a router, try connecting (if possible) directly to the main line rather than through the router. If you can connect after this, then your router's firewall is the culprit.

If this is at your place of work, talk with a network administrator to see if there's any other configurations they may suggest.

Alternatively, hopefully CP will reply with some further suggestions, but I'd at least try the first thing I suggested.

Thanks Brendan, I'm connecting from home. My work firewall prohibits anything like this. I'm connecting through a DSL modem, directly into the phone connection in the wall.
