Setting up your Router for better FTP connections!??

Post by coldfusion2006 »

I have read many topics regarding Router Setup for (FTP). Topics such as Port forwarding and Advanced Settings.

Most users these days are connected to the internet via Cable/DSL.

I am a Cable customer and extremely pleased with my connection. I am connected through Comcast High Speed using a Motorola SBS120 modem and also use a Netgear WGT624 Router.

Obviously FTPing is much easier when you are connected to the Internet directly from your modem without a Router, or at least that has been my experience.

I can not take the time to disconnect my Router and the reset my LAN/Network settings everytime I want a trouble free FTP Session, its just not feasable for time...

What I would like to know is if there are some distinct settings that I should be taking advantage of via my Routers Admin interface.

I have trouble with my FTP sessions just pausing or stopping while uploading large files and I do use PASV mode. My server is not near its limit for space, nor am I having Quota issues!!

Please! Anyone with useful information... POST AWAY :D :?:
