Core FTP

Hi there

I configured a permissions of R---L--- on one of my accounts, logged in, tried to nav to a sub folder, permission denied.. Oops, forgot the Inherit. Added Inherit permission. Still couldnt navigate. Stopped/restarted service. Could navigate

Must I restart the service after every trivial change? This is very frustrating..

Let me know if you cannot reproduce the issue.. I can reproduce it reliably here.

I made a user with NO INHERIT permission on the root folder.
User cannot navigate to a sub folder
I edited the permissions to YES INHERIT
Click OK, Click OK
User still cannot navigate to sub folder
Restart service
User can now navigate to sub folder

I have run into this issue as well. I added a new folder and forgot to add permissions. After starting the server, I tried to get into the folder with Core FTP and obviously couldn’t get in. Then I added the permissions and still could not get in to the folder. After Stopping and restarting the Server, it worked.

Just curious - Did you logout/login before you retried to access the folder or changed permissions and retried from the same session?
