In the past, on my desktop, I can double click on Word documents and they will open in Word. I use Windows 7 and Word 2007. I recently purchased a refurbished laptop that has Windows 7 and I installed Word 2007. Then when I use core FTP I cannot open the Word document by double clicking. I get this message:
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.
I am unsure what this means or what to do about it. I have never had to do anything special to associate files in the FTP. I just double click and they open in Word.
Can someone please tell me how to simply rectify this issue? I have a call into tech support, but fear they will not understand my issue as the other computer person I ran it by didn't either. They give me work arounds that take much longer to use and I know there has to be something easier to fix this issue.
