Filters: How do I make them work and where is the button?

Sorry, maybe this is simple, but I don't see the button talked about in the online Help to turn the filters on and off. It states to look for the button above the directory listing, but I don't see it.

Also, I assume that since it says the filter can be applied to directories that if I setup a filter to say 'XYZ' that all directories and any subdirectories, named 'XYZ' will be filtered from the list and will not be placed into the queue when I select a directory for uploading.

Is this correct or am I missing something in the way filters are suposed to work? Basically I need to filter out any sub-directory with a specific name so that it is not uploaded when the directory above it is selcted for uploading.

I found the button shortly after I posted the message and happened to maximize the window. I downloaded the latest build and will try out the filters again, I see the interface changed, I assume you can now create different groups of filters to apply?
