Files will not list

Files will not list from server on Core FTP LE 2.1 nor 2.0 if less than 1 word. Example - file name: test.txt will not list in window but file name: new test2.txt will list but only as test2.txt. Works with other clients such as FileZilla. Server is VShell. Is there a known issue or is it a configuration issue on client side?

Changed Server Type to DOS/NT now seeing all files BUT now listing as

22,2008 12:36 New Text Test Document.txt with a size of 22 and Date of 04/01/00 00:00.

File was posted today with a size of 1 KB.

I don't know where else to look at this point.

I am using SSH/SFTP. The server type I was referencing is below the "use lagacy protocol option." I still can not see the enire file name which states file can not be located when you go to download.
