I am getting a message on startup now that says:
You have been using Core FTP Server for 10 days
Enter registration info?
If I click on Yes, I get a mid-size window that is titled Registration with an OK button and a Cancel button and nothing else in the window (no controls, no labels, no text boxes). If I click OK, the window goes away. If I click Cancel, CoreFTP Server appears to load, but I cannot connect from another computer.
What do I need to do?
Blank Registration
How to pull the server's teeth
Your suggestion solved the problem - I had build 118. However, getting the old version off was harder than expected. Here is what I had to do:
1. Stop the Core FTP Server Service
2. Back-up config.dat - to save time later so I wouldn't have to reconstruct the user-list
3. Uninstall the server - this was not a complete uninstall - even though the service had been stopped, it still had a hold on the executable (coresrvr.exe)
4. Remove the service from the registry: \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CoreFTPServer - this may cause some pop-up gripes from the system, which you should ignore
6. Reboot - this will release the hold on coresrvr.exe
7. Delete the executable from \Program Files\CoreFTPServer
8. Download the latest server installation from: http://www.coreftp.com/server/
9. Perform the install
10. Replace the new config.dat with your old config.dat
11. Start the server
You're up and running with your old domain/users all connected.

I did forget to ask one question:
The server still comes up and says:
You have been using Core FTP Server for 66 days
Enter Registration Info?
(at least this build gets the count right - 118 was stuck on 11 days)
If I click on No, the server loads just fine.
If I click on Yes, I get a form asking for:
Registratin (reg.rgf)
and a browse button, an OK button and a Cancel button.
If I click on Cancel, the server loads.
I'd like the server to come-up automatically if the machine reboots.
Do I need a registration file?

So I finally installed build 130 - and it still asked for a registration file. But since I've had such good service with the product, I simply went and purchased a license, entered the file, and no more annoying pop-up.
By the way, the install process for build 130 was seamless.
I stopped the FTP Server, ran the install, rebooted as instructed and it simply works.
Thank you for providing such an easier to use FTP server.

Registration not "sticking"
I love your product and bought a license for it awhile back. However, every time I run the program, it asks me if I'd like to register. I keep loading in my .reg file and stopping the service as it directs me to, but it never "sticks". I did just downloaded the latest build 134 and have installed that with no change on this matter. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!
As an EDU customer, do I still need to get a license file ? The thing is that otherwise I still get the popup window...CP wrote:There was a license issue in the earlier builds, so you may need a new one. Contact sales@coreftp.com for an updated license.
Thanks...
