Drag-n-drop bug back?

Post by barbecue »

This bug http://coreftp.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2766#2766 seems to have returned.

I'm having basically the same symptoms now when I try to use drag-n-drop with multiple files using 1.3c build 1446. The files are downloaded to the temp directory, and the program goes into a loop where it repeatedly tries to download the same file, etc.

Also, this may be unrelated, but even with single file drag-n-drop transfers, the transfer is truncated at about 16K, though CoreFTP reports the transfer was successful.
Here's an example...

Well, this is interesting, I tried creating a full log showing the issue, but I was unable to reproduce the problem. The only change since the last time I tried this was that I updated my BIOS to fix some hyperthreading-related issues. Maybe that had something to do with it?

However the problem of downloaded files being truncated at 16K is still there.

Whoops, I spoke too soon, I'm now able to reproduce the repeating download problem again. I think the truncating issue and the endless looping download issue may be related after all, as it looks like the program is repeatedly trying to retrieve only those files which were truncated. It's weird.
At least this time I'm getting an actual error message in the log, "451 Internal error in processing"

I've forwarded a complete log to the support address. Contact me via email if you want access to my FTP server so you can try it for yourself.

Well, it's better, but something's still strange.

When I tried transferring a large folder with multiple subfolders and files,
it starts out by parsing the directories, which seems to be fine. But then when it starts the transfer, one of the files gets stuck, showing "xfering" as the status, but no data actually moves.

At this point, if I pause the queue, then restart it, the stuck file shows as failed, but a number files will then transfer successfully, until it gets stuck on another file. Pausing and restarting the queue seems to work once or twice, but then the application crashes:
"Critical Error - CThDirs
Core FTP has detected a critical error etc...."
I've emailed the coredump.log
