Can not execute a remote command using SSH server on NT 2000

Post by samsa »

I have installed the core ftp server version 1.0 build 263 on a Windows 2000 server. I have created a user, using the administraive tool of the core ftp server. I have enabled the execute permission for this user using the administrive tool of the core ftp server.

When I attempt to remotely execute a command on this windows 2000, I get the following error message:
"Unable to execute command or shell on remote system: Failed to Execute process."

Does anyone know where the problem is or can anyone suggest anything that I need to check? Is this a problem that is related to the ftp server or are there any additional setups required specifically for the Windows 2000 platform? I have examined the core ftp logs and it seems like my client is able to make a connection and authenticate but the server for some reason is unable to execute a command.
what type of command are you trying to execute? If you're trying to do a non-sftp command, Core FTP Server may not allow it.
Hello CP. I am attempting to run a simple native DOS command on the target Windows 2000 server. I am trying to execute "cmd /c dir" which is supposed to run the DOS dir command and terminate. Can you please let me know if there is a way to run such commands? Thank you.
